I have a problem with the latter, both with wget and the web browser,
that the directory which contains the software is "forbidden" :(

That's not too much trouble. I'm quite used to building the kernel and
other packages. But I do not like to have to install packages because
manufacturers build castrated devices which only want to work under
Windows.
