When you're buying motherboards, DO NOT buy from ECS/PCChips. You

About 4 years ago, I bought a decent-sized lot of ECS motherboards. 1/3
were DOA. When those were replaced, about 1/3 of the replacements were DOA.
Most of the motherboards failed completely within three years.
There's a reason they're so cheap.

Steve,
Thanks for the feedback. Lesson learned. You get what you pay
for.
I build some systems for folks who can't afford high-priced
systems, with the purpose in mind of making it possible for them to
connect to the Internet and rest of world and access a lot of education
they otherwise couldn't. Sure, they're poor people, but that doesn't
mean they have to stay ignorant.
But, I'm not going to install crap motherboards and then have them
fail in short order. Defeats the whole purpose.
Another question: Are there any motherboard manufacturers who
actually build their boards in America by American labor any more, or
if that asking too much too?
