What distro are you using? On FC4 and FC5 they just work, you don't have
to do anything special, just plug them in and they automount.
what device do they mount as and where do they mount ?
On FC4 it's /media/usbdisk
And why do you think a PCI device (SD reader) that has nothing to do with
USB, will be mounted as "usbdisk"? Anyway, SD support was only added in
2.6.17, and Fedora 5 is still at 2.6.16. I am also not using this, but I
suspect the OP needs appropriate udev rules for this to work. I would
wait for the distribution to put it in place, however (hopefully, in
another couple of weeks).
What are you talking about? SD Card readers are USB devices. SD cards
plugged into a USB card reader are mounted as /media/usbdisk. I'm running
FC4 with a 2.6.14.7 kernel, my SD card reader works fines. Where did you
get the idea that SD support requires 2.6.17 and FC5?
I have a "12-in-1" card reader - I don't think Linux cares what sort of card is in it.
Surely it is all just "USB mass storage"?
