Dear all,
My pc can work with two systems: Suse 10 and Debian sarge
(two months old). The monitor is a tft (iiyama 17") and has
been working for the last three years.
xfree86 has been configured with sax2 and
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 respectively. Since yesterday
the screen shows vertical lines after half an hour and then
"goes to sleep". Same senario 4 or 5 times consecutively.
I stopped for the night but same behaviour this morning.
I changed the screen for a hp 19" tft but the problem
remains.
I would recommend replacing the graphics card and see if the problem remains
the same.
Ditto that. It sounds like it may be overheating. Does it have a fan? Is it turning?
