Fedora Core 5 and the ongoing sound card problem

I had a SB 16 ISA installed with FC5 and this card has always worked for me
in Linux and I tried it in both ALSA and OSS drivers. Well that didn't
work out so I took people advice and installed a Soundblaster Live Value PCI
sound card which is prob the most common sound card from a few years back.
Now this card will not work either.

Can someone please help me to learn how to troubleshoot the sound card. I
never had problems until FC 5? And I am not really an advanced user.

The autodect see's it and identified it correctly but no sound.

Thanks

Jeanette
