I'm not familiar with FC, but usually when X i started it logs error
messages, warnings and debug messages to a log file. On my Slackware
system that file is usually called /var/log/Xorg.0.log
If you have such a file that file might contain some clue why DRI
isn't working.

That's standard for post Ver 4 of X11 of any type although I get
Xout.log when I compiled from source - same place though.
I found the fix finally on the Fedora Core 5 extras page
and I am relating it here for all who might have the same problem
from Terminal window as root
setsebool -P allow_execmod=1
init 3
nvidia-config-display enable
init 5
wallah!! GL that works
