I googled around some but haven't found any zip disk tools for Linux,
yet I did see a post indicating some were in development.
Anyone know of any?
I don't have a Windows machine, & my wife's Windows computer has a
ATAPI Zip drive in an IDE-USB case. I'll try Iomega tools on it when
I get home from holiday, but I'd prefer her not having an excuse to
tell me I should have Windows...:-)
Much obliged, Bob
If you can read the contents why don't you just copy them to your hard
drive and then write them to a CD? ZIP drives are unreliable and the media
was expensive, the only reason to use one is to recover the data that you
stored on them years ago. For doing backups a DVD-R+- or a CD-R is much
better, they are more reliable and the media is practically free. For
sneaker net applications a USB keyring is much nicer, a 1G USB keyring is
$40.
