Alsa question

I am using the ecasound multitrack audio with an Audigy2
soundcard under alsa. I am having problems isolating input from
output on the card, and as a result am getting voices from one
track dubbed over another.

I understand that playback/capture are different devices on the
card, but can't seem to pass the right parameters to ecasound
(which uses a "-alsa,hw,0:0" flag, where the numbers represent
the card, and the device on the card).

I believe the info I need is in /proc/asound, but I'm not exactly
sure what I'm looking for. Could somebody point me in the right
direction?

Cheers
Simon
