Re: Can't Linux run with Intel Desktop Board D101GGC Motherboard on my PC? I have been told so.

installing Linux and learning its nuances as a user first.
My computer administrator told me there aren't many Linux distributions
compatible with my Motherboard: Intel Desktop D101GGC.
Is it true? Aren't there many. Or are there any. Please help.

Unless this motherboard is only just released to the market place the odds
are that an up to date kernel will support it. So for instance with
Debian you might be to use testing or unstable rather than stable. You
should certainly use a 2.6 kernel (2.6.17 is the current one) not a 2.4 one.
Debian has the advantage that is loads over the net, you only need to
download a small boot CD to get started - but if you are new to Linux then
perhaps Ubuntu (if you like GNOME) or Kubuntu if you like KDE would be
better.
