more reliable than the nVidia binary driver? If it helps to replace the
driver it might also help to upgrade or downgrade the binary nvidia driver.

So far, the NVIDIA person in NVIDA forum didn't see anything odd in my logs. I wonder if it is a
X bug or something. Here's what's weird. I mentioned that GNOME does not have problems (shows
garbled texts), but KDE does. I wonder if KDE in X is doing something to make it blow up.
