That info tells me you DO NOT have an Audigy sound crd - it appears you
have an AC97 card!! Do you have both an onboard sound chip on your
motherboard and an Audigy Sound card? It appears your BIOS is set to use
the onboard sound. At least that is my guess. The command "lsmod" will
show all the modules loaded. There should be quite a few emu10k1 modules.
Those are the Audigy drivers. I bet you have AC97 stuff instead. Check
that out. If you have AC97 stuff loaded you arfe using the onboard sound
chip and you need to turn it off in your BIOS setup and then rerun your
hardware setup procedure.
I didn't see anything obvious in the BIOS for configuring onboard sound.
Also, if there were an onboard sound card, wouldn't there be a set of
jacks? The only audio jacks I have are from the Audigy card.
You're quite correct about the jacks.
The other message you posted (with the output of 'lsmod') looks right
for an Audigy card. I have an SB Live myself, and it shows all the same
modules loaded with the exception of snd_ca0106 (which is required for
some Audigy models). The ac97 modules you have loaded are required by
the emu10k1 driver and do *not* correspond to another audio card.
Which *exact* model of Audigy card do you have? There are several
variations.
According to the RedHat sound config tool: Creative Labs SB Audigy LS.
