Hi everybody, I've got an old Packard Bell 14" (I think) monitor. TheNow, this is what you call good service <g>.
sticker on the back says it's a "PB8539 VG". No manual included. I'm
trying to display a resolution grater than 640x480 on it -- I know it's
capable because Windows 98 used to run on it at what looked like
800x600. Does anyone know the vertical and horizontal refresh rates for
this? Thanks, Alex

HTH.
Wow. If that's true, it's an even crappier monitor than I thought!
Thanks ... guess I'll have to buy a new monitor.
Don't chuck it away just yet. Try driving it at 1280x1024 and 100Hz and see if smoke comes out of it!
Mark
