Re: Which kind of Xeon do I have?

Hi all,

Currently we installed RHEL 4 32-bit on this 4 CPU Dell server. We'd
like to install RHEL 4 64-bit on it. The question is we don't know
which type of Xeon this server has. In order to install RHEL 4 64-bit,
I think the Xeon should have EM64T feature. (Is this right?) If so,

Right. Only the EM64T systems are capable of running in 64-bit mode.

Xeon with 130-nm technology is not qualified, but Xeon with 90-nm is
ok.

This is part of 'cat /proc/cpuinfo':
[snip]
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic mtrr pge mca
cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx
fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe lm pni monitor ds_cpl cid xtpr

The "lm" flag in that line apparently indicates the EM64T feature. You should be able to run a 64-bit distro (based on my limited understanding of the CPU flags).
