Hi guys,
Sorry for the delay. Yes, I want to grow the partition.
The disk doesn't have free space right now, but when I'm ready to do
this it will.
The disk is on a SAN, so I can easily create a new logical unit and
"join" the original LUN with the new LUN, therefore increasing the size
of the original disk (as the host operating system sees it).
Knowing that, any further info for me?

So far so good? That looks ok to me.
If I go into "parted /dev/sdc" this has a different result, and I don't
know if it's an issue or not.

Information: The operating system thinks the geometry on /dev/sdc is
32635/255/63. Therefore, cylinder 1024 ends at 8032.499M.

Is this an issue? Or is it a problem with the 'parted' utility..
The partition in question is mounted and working fine, and is 247 GB in
size. It contains all our live Oracle data files and is quite happily
ticking along.
Output of "df -h" :

As root try the command line tool parted:
Machine> parted /dev/sda
you may want to read man parted and or info parted first.
