Kevin:
Thanks for your help.
I tried your suggestion and at first it did not work, but I looked at the
help file and was able to modify your suggestion to something successfull.
mplayer -f /dev/video0
was changed to
mplayer -fs /dev/video0
and it worked fine. Full screen video from a television channel. And no
hard drive space being used for the test. Thank you.
Between you and the other responder, Bob, I now know that is all
software/my config. This is allot more than I knew a week ago, so thank
you both.
So now I have more confidence in the card and I know for sure it works. I
just have to figure out why MythTV freaks out so much. Its settings
identify the card by name and all seems fine configuration wise. Wacky,
wacky, Linux.
BTW, I used locate to try to find "ptune.pl" but no luck. ("locate
/usr/lib/ivtv/ptune.pl", "locate ptune.pl" and "locate ptune") Not that
it matters, I am more concerned about MythTV working than flipping
channels and it is tuning to a specific channel I can use for testing.
Is there a PVR newsgroup out there I wonder...
