What do you mean by tricky? Which distro are you using?
Debian. The SATA controller was not supported on the official install CD. It
was however supported on the latest beta, but still no JMicron for the
CD-ROM drive. Quite strange experience. It boots from the CD and then says
it cant detect the CD. Anyway, solved it by booting from a USB 2 CD-ROM
drive.
By the way, the Realtek gigabit NIC requires a driver from Realtek. I'm not
quite sure about the license, but it comes in source form.
