Yes, it has a filter entry. But I've yet to be able to print anything on it in anything other than windows.
And I know I can set things up right as I've gotten two
other HP printers working on similar configurations.
To include a DJ 3320(usb) and DJ 722C(parport). Unless
there's some special equivalent to hpijs or pnm2ppa like
the HP's needed, I don't see what I'm missing to help
drive said printer. The bjc600 is part of my gs-esp.
The entry for it in linuxprinting.org does not show much praise either.
- "Can be set to DOS emulation: information is not in the manual but is available from the CCSI web site. Still can't do much more than print ASCII, however."
- "Printer supports direct text printing with the `us-ascii' charset."
Not exactly what you'd expect from a 600x600 dpi color inkjet printer with scanner, and fax capabilities.
You have my sympathy. I have a Konica-Minolta Magicolor 2500W which is not supported. I started with a 2300W which had an open-source driver on sourceforge, but when it ran out of colour toner, I got a 2400W, also supported in the same driver. Unfortunately, it didn't work - hardware problem - so Konica-Minolta sent me a replacement. The replacement was a 2500W, for which there is no Linux driver. Surprisingly, although it takes the same cartridges as the 2400W and looks almost the same, it needs a different driver.
The only solution I have so far is to connect it to my wife's computer and fire it up when I want to print.
Makes you wonder why companies can't see an opportunity - especially when others have already done most of the work for them - to support Linux and open up new markets for their products.
