I note however that your MP C5000 is supported
with the CUPS Foomatic drivers - for printing anyway.
Yes, it has a filter entry. But I've yet to be able to
print anything on it in anything other than windows.
And I know I can set things up right as I've gotten two
other HP printers working on similar configurations.
To include a DJ 3320(usb) and DJ 722C(parport). Unless
there's some special equivalent to hpijs or pnm2ppa like
the HP's needed, I don't see what I'm missing to help
drive said printer. The bjc600 is part of my gs-esp.
The entry for it in linuxprinting.org does not show much
praise either.
- "Can be set to DOS emulation: information is not in
the manual but is available from the CCSI web site.
Still can't do much more than print ASCII, however."
- "Printer supports direct text printing with the
`us-ascii' charset."
Not exactly what you'd expect from a 600x600 dpi color
inkjet printer with scanner, and fax capabilities.
