Hi Joerg,
Well, you could tell the Linux Kernel developers not to introduce incompatible
changes....
Years ago I was a fan of the Linux and open source phenomenon, but I
don't like Linux anymore due to all these rapid changes,
inconsistencies and incompatibilities among all the Linux distributions
and versions. It's a nightmare for administrators and developers that
need to rely on a stable and consistent platform.
And just a note on the Linux distributors: If they do not read the cdrtools
documentation and don't install cdrecord suid-root, you need to be prepared
that cdrecord does not work.
I am doing my best, but I need to get informed in case that there
has again been an incompatible Linux Kernel change... in your case,
I cannot say anything specific until you did upgrade to a recent version
of cdrtools. get it from:
ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecord/aplha/
Thanks. I compiled the latest release (2.01.01a20-pre) and gave it to
our customer for testing on his hardware.
Best regards,
Bernd
