It looks like if the sound card is connected to an EHCI controller, it
will not work.
The code in the EHCI driver that sends audio data through a
transaction translator (the part of a hub that converts between USB
1.1 and 2.0 protocols) was broken in many kernel versions.
Try the latest kernel (2.6.18).
