Step one: minimize your system. Remove everything you don't need to
boot.
Run w/ just one stick of memory, no modem, audio PCI card, one hard
drive,
etc. If it still gets panics, then the problem is in just that
subset. Swap
the memory out to rule that out. Eventually by swapping out one piece
at a
time, you can rule out everything or find the offending piece of
hardware.
Typically it's memory or motherboard.
