Then you can't use AMD's AM2 socket processors. (Intel has been using
DDR2 for a while now.) AMD's obsolete performance socket (939) takes
DDR memory. AMD's budget socket (seven hundred and something) takes
DDR memory. So, if you want to reuse your existing memory your choice
is a budget AMD processor or a second had computer. Things are starting
to get simpler now. ;-)

I don't think that you will have the option of PCI-e or upgrade possibility.
