Hello world,

Has anybody any knowledge of a Linux driver for the Sun Raptor
GFX-450 Video card. For Sparc Linux (Debian) of course. I have found
one of these and according to the manufacturer's web site, the only
drivers available are for Solaris. I was hoping to install it in a
Ultra 60 dual processor machine.

Alternatively, any suggestions where to look?

Well... there's at least a chance since you are using it with a Sun
box (card has no VGA BIOS AFAIK, it's just a proprietary framebuffer
device).

But, no driver support from the manufacturer:

This would take some reverse engineering effort at this point.

With that said, Tech Source does have a line for x86, which appears
to be similar... and their are drivers for x86 Linux:

http://www.techsource.com/tech_support/65-0230-01_revG.pdf

So... you'd think it would be possible to support their
card in Linux under SPARC.... they just haven't chose to do so
(again, AFAIK).

Yes, that is the status as I know it. Strange that Tech Source have said
that they WILL NOT support Linux on this card. I will keep my fingers
crossed and wait........
