Networking XP/SuSE w/ a patch cable



I am trying to network a SuSE box through an XP system. I have 2 nic cards
inic cards in the xp system... and I am using a patch cable to connect.
Excuse me for my ignorance... I'm a n0ob of sorts. What do I want to use
in linux for the networking? Samba? can anyone help me of refer me to a
source please.

The box said 'Requires Windows 98 or better'. So I installed LINUX.
