Sony Camcorder is Linux friendly
I did a lot of research before buying a camcorder to use with Blender
on Linux. I bought the Sony DCR-SR40 and it is Linux friendly. You
simply plug the usb cable into the PC, and the camera appears as a
file system. You just drag the files over. The camera has a 30 gig
hard drive. My laptop is running Debian 3.1 with the 2.6.18 kernel.
