Hi,
If you get the ML-2010, be aware that the installer program works best when
running it form x-windows. The text-based one doesn't do all the dependency
checking it seems. I recently struggled because I didn't have sane
installed. (No, its not an mfc so I'm not sure why its needed but cups had
problems loading some "ppm image").
This sounds really strange! What distro were you using when installing
the printer?
I use Gentoo Linux and am used to struggle with console installation
and manual editing of configuration files. Do you have any idea if
there are Gentoo packages (ebuilds) for installing the driver?
In the WWW I read that the Samsung ML-2010 is supported by a new
driver released by the OpenPrinting project which's aim is to develop
general drivers suitable for all distros. I would bet that there is a
Gentoo package for this driver and so installation will run
automatically. Please comment on if you know anything about
installation procedure with this OpenPrinting driver.
Daniel
