I've been doing that, and it works fine, except that the PC sits about
3" from the door to the laundry. I'm afraid someone will stick their
foot into it, thus solving the overheating problem for good. ;-)

And moving the PC is not an option either; it's at the nexus of 3
monitors and thus cannot be moved easily given the location of the
furniture in the room.

I might just haul one side to the shop and cut a huge hole in it and
then cover it with mesh....

In the meantime I dug up an old fan and stuck it in the box as an intake
fan close to the video cards. The test this morning went OK; HD on the
TV, and two kids playing games, and no lockups....

The PS fan was howling like a small turbine, though, and the air blowing
out of it was warm.

I was going to suggest adding some fans. You could use a *** of
'expanded metal' - I think that's what they call the broad mesh stuff - as
a cover.
