Simulate Unplug/Plug of USB Cable

Hello -

At a certain point, my USB device becomes unrecognizable by Fedora
Core 6 until I unplug/plug the USB cable. I'd like to simulate the
unplugging/plugging of the USB cable via software. Is there a way to
do this?

Using /proc/bus/usb/devices, I identified what module my USB device
uses (usb-storage). I tried doing a rmmod then lsmod of this module
but that didn't do the trick.

Any suggestions?
