borked intel video bios
There is now (non-commercial) hope for systems like the Gateway M305 with
borked intel video bios. I struggled for some time after buying a used one
to get native 1024x768 working. A year and a half ago the only solution I
could find was the commercial drivers from xigraphics. I've recently tried
the new experimental 'intel' driver which replaces 'i810' and it seems to
work quite well. I've tried it with mandriva spring and ubuntu 7.04. Quite
easy to install and very impressive.
