I don't know about m/b's, but it appears Core2 has some serious issues:

Two comments:

1. Theo de Raadt is well-known for making very much noise over the
smallest of things if that fits his agenda.

2. There is no reason to believe AMD CPUs would be less buggy.

I'd wait and see how things pan out before basing any decision on this.
