I might just be spending some money, then. I used to do sound and
lighting in the theatre, and made a lot of dummy-head recordings when
they were popular in the early years of the 70s. It would be nice to
do some of that again.
OK, it's not up to the OP's requirements. But it might amuse me for
a bit.
Shadow: I am surprised you don't have firewire on your flaptop. All
of mine have had the tiny 4-pin connector. I just put a 4-port
firewire port in my desktop for under £10.
