Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the backlight layer
from a laptop screen? If so, any suggestions on how to go about
doing that?
I'm not talking about the bulb, but the layer that spreads the light
across the screen.
My goal is to attach it to the back of an aquarium to backlight my
fish.
I once did the opposite - I disassembled a laptop screen and separated
the LCD from the backlight. I could look through the LCD and see
what was outside my the window, while having the computer's display
superimposed on it. Sort of like a home-brewed HUD.
Any possible answer would only come if the aquarium was running
Linux.
This is not a general hardware newsgroup, it's about computer
hardware as it relates to the Linux operating system.
There is absolutely no reason why you should expect an answer here,
or even expect that someone who could answer is reading here.
Find a relevant newsgroup to post your question.
comp.sys.aquaria?
Well, the computer that runs the backlight, the webcam, and the
general life support system will be running linux.
comp.os.linux.aquaria?
Heck, I'm teaching my fish to program. Pretty soon they'll be
experts in visual basic. They're a bit slow with C, though. :-)
There, is it relevant now? :-)
Visual Basic is still off charter. But if you could get them to
program in C... hmm, something about leading a fish to water...
