We have a new server (Fedora Core 5) with a four port Intel NIC card.
The CD that came with the card has a driver for the e1000 gb card.
Below is the list from the "locate e1000" command.
I don't know if this means that the driver is configured correctly or
not?
The output from the locate command tells me that:
1. The e1000.ko module is present in the modules directory for the 2.5.15 kernel that came with FC5.
2. You have the kernel source for 2.6.10 installed, but apparently this kernel is not compiled.
3. You also have the source code for a e1000 driver, but that is not compiled either.
None of this tells me anything about whether or not an appropriate driver for this NIC is installed. What's the output of lsmod? Does it say anything about "e1000"? How many interfaces does "ifconfig -a" show?
.
