Can someone recommend an eSATA enclosure and controller?
I need an external enclosure that can hold 4-5 drives and a controller that fits into a PCIe 1X slot.
And of course it needs to work with linux.
Also, does anyone know of an inexpensive SCSI controller that fits into a PCIe 1x slot? The cheapest I can find is $160.... That's a bit too expensive....
I'm looking to improve performance and add storage to my server; move the OS and /tmp and /var to RAID-1 SCSI, and rebuild my system to have lots more diskspace.
I'm finding that streaming video and music off the same physical devices as my OS uses, slows down my system quite a bit when it gets hit by a lot of stuff at the same time....
