I would like to play a region 1 dvd on my region 2 dvd rewriter
drive. My drive is a Lite-On DVDRW S0HW-012S rewriter.
I have mounted the disk, but when I try to play the video
files, I get errors as follows:
You don't mount a DVD to play it. You just tell the video player
which DVD device to use. Using the libdvdread library (which
will use the libdvdcss to decrypt the DVD) the DVD is read in
raw mode and the video stream then delivered to the video
player.
E.g.:
mplayer dvd:// -dvd-device /dev/dvd
Xine and VLC provide you with the device selection in their GUI.
libdvdcss will completely bypass the Region Code BTW.
