Something must run libdvdcss on the same machine as the DVD drive.
Is there a tool that could spool the libdvdcss output to the hard disk, so
that I could then access this via the network?
This does not necessarily have to be real time. It could create a .iso or a
.mpg or .avi file, which I could then play remotely.
You can use dvdbackup to create a decrypted copy of the DVD. This can
then be accessed by any player over a network filesystem.
There's probably some media server that will allow remote access to a
DVD. MythTV has a DVD plugin that might be able to do it.
The machine with the DVD drive is a low-mid range machine (400MHz Pentium
with 128Mb RAM).
That is more than enough to decrypt a DVD in real time.
