Hello!

I want to watch tv on my linux laptop and I'm searching for well supported
hybrid or analog usb device. My requirements:
- must working in PAL standard
- good if IR receiver present working in linux
- stable and cheap

Will anybody reccomend me something?

I've had phenomenally good results with the plextor convertX usb
tuner.

Notes:
1) encodes to divx mpeg4. Bad if you're going to make DVDs and would have
to retranscode to mpeg2.

2) Mine is NTSC. You'll have to check if there's a PAL version.

3) no remote control. Get a streamzap remote control for it. Another
good choice is the mickysoft mce usb remote control.

I've been using one for two years and the worst problem I've had is that
2.6.17 and later kernels need a patch that is relatively easy to locate.
