The drive power light is on. I can shut it down and check the internal
cabling, but it is a web server so i do not want to shutdown unless I
have to, is there anything else I should try before doing that?

Probably not. If the device is being connected LIVE where the driver
doesn't handle LIVE plugging, then you'd have to REMOVE them module
and re-add it.. .however, you can do a modinfo on it and see
if it has any options. The rescan-scsi-bus.sh command is designed
to search all LUNs. You can try the '-c' option in combo with that
above.... but I doubt it.
