Re: LSI Logic MegaRAID i4 only recognizes 131MB of 500MB

On Thu, 24 Jan 2008 20:47:49 -0800, Ben rearranged some electrons to say:

So I went ahead and build my first RAID server:

Motherboard: FoxConn 6100K8MA-RS
RAID card: LSI Logic MegaRAID i4
Drives: 2x Seagate 500GB ATA100 - ST3500630A
2x Western Digital 500GB ATA100 - WD5000AAJB

Unfortunately, the RAID card only recognizes each drive with only 131MB
instead of 500MB when I fire up its configuration utility. I plugged
them in one by one but still, none of them would register with anything
more. Since I bought the RAID card used, I suspect that the setup of
the previous owner is still resident. Any idea how to reset the card?

- Ben

google: 137GB ATA limit.
