Wann buy new flat panel. Looking at HP2009. My pci vid card is
matrox g200. Does the two sys's even talk, or do I need newer mobo or
jes vid card?

You certainly don't want to buy a new video card for that system. As a
baseline consider that a barebones Atom system costs $120, add 2G of RAM
and a pretty big disk and the whole thing would only set you back $200.
An Atom system only consumes about 30W, your old box probably consumes
150W or more so the power savings alone would pay for that in about 15
months.

Of course once you decide to build a new system you'll almost certainly
choose better components than that but my point is that a new much more
powerful system is essentially free when compared to running the old
box.
Wow! That is a hell of a deal! Do you add just the monitor and
keyboard? Will Ubuntu install on it with no problems? My wife's old IBM
P4/2.4gHz is having issues. This sounds like a great little unit. How
fast does the Atom 1.6 run, comparably that is? I saw it is on sale now
for only $119.
