I've had several late night prowlers recently, so I'd like to set up a

On Newegg, I see cameras that have an RJ45 connections, so I'm assuming
that all I would need for them is a big enough router to handle all the
connections, and then the cameras would just be accesses as a video
stream. The main problem with that idea is that those camera are
expensive, and the only ones that get decent reveiws are hundreds of
dollars.

In contrast, there are several coaxial cameras under $100 that have
great reviews, but I'm not sure how to set them up.

Here's the one I'd like to start off with.

For coax, would I need a special router, or a video card, or what?

You may want to get a "standard" network managable security dvr.
There are many on the market all over the price range. But if you
search for dvr on newegg that will get you started.
