I'd look at Brother printers, as they are very good printers and have

I hear Samsung has good linux support, too.

The keyword to look for when buying a printer is not "Linux" but
"Postscript". With postscript support built into the printer your
applications will be able to print without some "driver software"
installed on your system converting from postscript to some special
"printer language" which might be more or less brain dead (beware of
the keyword GDI). Postscript printers are usually a little bit more
expensive, but if you are already looking for duplex capacity you have
already walked your way into that price class.

There used to be a saying that laser printers were expensive but had cheap
consumables and ink printers were cheap but had expensive consumables.
Unfortunately that is no longer true, there are laser printers today where
a complete set of consumables are more expensive than a new printer. So
when byuing a printer it might also be a good idea to look at the prices
for consumables like toner and drum.
