Hi,
Just installed Suse 8.2 on a Compaq Presario Celery 566, 128 mb (in
the past it had RedHat 7.3 with no X problems). Installation went
flawlessly, it detected everything and took 1/2 hour. It was a
graphical installation.
The first real boot-up seemed to be going fine, then when it hit the
part where Xwindows should come up for user log-in, it just flickered
for a second then went black. The only thing on the screen looked
like a message from the monitor saying something like:
Out of frequency range
H: 30-54khz
V: 50-120hz
I cant even bring up Yast2 or Sax, I am guessing I will need to edit
an XFree86config file or something? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
