Yup, you need to good newsreader which can set linewrap at 80 or less.

Update Mozilla - current version is 1.4 (1.5 alpha is also available) OR
Use the cutdown news-mail version of Mozilla - it is called Thunderbird
(previosuly Minotaur) OR
Try Pan - (version 11.4 will probably suite your system - it helps if you
tell us which distro/version of linux you are using)
