Trash Can Icon Problem

Hi All,
This isn't really an install question, but I didn't know where else to post
it really. Anyhow, a small annoyance problem... my trash can icon no
longer changes when there is something in the trash can. How do I fix this
problem (so that the icon is "empty" when no trash and "full" when there is
trash.)?
I'm running RedHat 9.0 w/ KDE.
