I have a backup server that I need to get a good recovery image of. I
need to be able to boot from a floppy or cd and write to either a tape
or NFS mounted file system. The system is a P4 with adaptec 79xx scsi
controller and accraid raid controller. The tape drive is a LTO-2
scsi drive. I only have a serial console. I do not have keyboard or
mouse or monitor attached to the system.

I tried booting from RedHats rescue disk. I can mount my /boot and /
file systems, but I can't write to tape because there is no st module.
I can bring up the network interface and telnet, ftp etc.. I can not
mount an NFS file system. When I run mount -t NFS
hostname:/filesystem /directory , I get mount failed: No such device.

I tried booting from toms root disk using bz2bzImage
console=ttyS1,115200n8. The system boots but stops durring the boot
process and is unresponsive to the keyboard afterwards. Here is the
ouput of toms root disk boot.
