Hi,
I run a large advertising network agency and I am getting about I'd say
over 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 hits/day. My server info is below:

Red Hat Linux 7.3 (Valhalla)
Dell Dual Xeon 2.0 Ghz
(1) Gig DDR ram
(2) 70Gig SCSI drives (one for DB and one for files)
1300 Gigs of bandwidth.

I am getting that server from RackShack right now. The reason I am
concerned is because I think I am being limited somewhere but I dont know
where. I used to run on a P4 1.7Ghz w 512M of RAM and I was noticing a load
average of about 2 to 3. I upgraded to this dual xeon and all my numbers
skyrocketed! However, this is my question....

I have been continually adding more and more traffic to my network but it
appears that I am not gainging any more hits/impressions (at least not
significantly). It appears as if I have peaked and have reached a limit on
my achievable impressions. Can my server be maxed out somewhere or limited
that I dont know about? Here is evrything i've checked:

1. Bandwidth usage about 20 gigs/day.
     Average in: 1.41M/second
     Average out: 588K/second
(according to rackshack I can support up to 100M/second on their network
so my internet connection is not the problem they say)

2. HTTPD config...Starting 500 clients, maxed at 700.
Current average httpd's running between 200-350 at any given time.
Last night I saw it go up to 350 (I was very tired but Im pretty sure I saw
it). But today (using pstree), it says I have 256 httpd running and its
been that way all morning...that sounds like I might be getting limited
there....????

3. MySQL max connects raised to 1000. Averaging about 150-200
queries/second.

4. RAM usage...usually about 900M-1G (about 700M on average cached). Never
uses Swap.

5. Usually have about 20-30 FTPD processes running at any given time.

6. Top shows a load average between 0.75 - 1.5.

SOOOOoooo, think my server is being pushed to hard and thats why I am not
seeing any gain? Or can it just be I am just cracked out and think im
sending more traffic than I actually am :-)

Any help appreciated! Thanks guys!

Gabe
