8.x, not comparable to the current 9.1 (and soon to come 9.2) series.

Understandable. If your cd does include the standard mandrake
installer, you can press F1 when asked, type "rescue" and then chose
"reinstall windows bootloader". Afterwards, you will have to use
harddisc manager (NT,2K,XP) to remove and recreate the "unknown"
partitions leftover. Clear them all, and then make a single one from
the free space. Don't forget to format.
With 9x you might want to boot into DOS (F8 on start), type fdisk
and then "3" (remove partition) after you are sure to have selected
the correct drive. Chose "remove non-dos partition" one by one.
Reboot, format (best in dos again) the free space.
