This is probably more of a Windows XP question than linux, but I don't think
Windows types would care to respond to this.
I have shared out a directory on XP, and am accessing it using smbclient on
linux. smbclient asks me for a password, but I stumbled on the fact that I
can supply any value for the pswd, as long as I supply something. Once I
supply something, Windows allows me in to the share.
When setting up the share, I don't see any options for "don't check
password". Did I miss a step on the Windows side? The only option I see is
to allow or disallow mods to the files on XP.
