There were a couple of typos in my previous post which seem to have
riled a few people up. I also realize I left some information out so I
now submit this revised post:
What distribution do you feel is most laptop friendly. I've run *Red
Hat 8 and 9* on a ThinkPad A21 for a while and haven't had too many
problems (aside from some wireless NIC issues on 8). I have not
installed the Red Hat 10 (Fedora-severn?) Beta.
Most of my *Linux* experience so far has been with either Red Hat or
Slackware. * I've messed around with Knoppix, Yellow Dog and Mandrake
a little bit. I'm still, very much, a newbie.
I have an IBM T20 that I'd like to install Linux on and was thinking
I'd like to give something other than Red Hat a try.
Are there any distributions that really seem fit well with a Laptop
install?
-- P.S. some people have gone out of their way to get pissed off and flame me because I cross-posted to alt.religion.dake-bonoism and have called me a troll. a.r.d-b is an eclectic newsgroup. A variety of subjects are discussed in there (it is similar to misc.misc in that respect). Linux is in fact *on-topic* in a.r.d-b. If I make a cross-posted to an MS newsgroup and a linux newsgroup with a subject line like "Linux Sux: Bill Gates is my Hero!" then that would be a troll. Even if I posted something a bit more subtle but it generated a bunch of off-topic, endless flame, type threads then I can see how someone could accuse me of being a troll. However my a.r.d-b posts have done neither. They have all been sincere questions, and I have always taken the time to read each and every response. I am not a troll. a.r.d-b is a "topic of the day" type newsgroup which I cross-post too from time to time. I've never seen a cross-post to that newsgroup generate flame threads or spam of any kind. I honestly don't see why people get upset by it. pottercarl@hotmail.com (carlos seramos) wrote in message news:<efa53c9b.0310071246.6850747c@posting.google.com>... > What distribution do you feel is most laptop friendly.
